James Wood pins loss on Handley

WINCHESTER — James Wood racked up four pins on the way to a 48-18 victory over Handley in a Class 4 Northwestern District wrestling match at Maddex-Omps Gymnasium on Wednesday.

The Colonels improved to 4-1 in district action, while the Judges fell to 3-2.

Winners — James Wood: Sam Adkins (160 in 3:54), Jared King (182 in 1:12); Brayden Patterson-Campbell (285 in 1:39); Christopher Nuss (132 in 5:01) each had pins. Joey Vitola (152, 9-6); Braden Sitton (106, 6-0) each won decisions; Walker Powell (170); Vincent Caruso (113); Aidan Barton (120) each won by forfeit; Handley: Thomas Downey (195, 3-1 in sudden victory); Mac Gordon (126, 6-1); Web Bentley (138, 9-2) and Hunter Thompson (145, 3-1) each won decisions; Raequan Wilson (220) won by forfeit.
