Loudoun Co. Duals; Colonels 3-2

LEESBURG — Handley went 4-1 to take second place and James Wood went 3-2 on Saturday at the Loudoun County Duals.

The Judges defeated Freedom (South Riding) 53-28, Highland Springs 66-16, Kettle Run 66-18 and James Wood 47-33. Handley lost to the host Captains 51-27.

James Wood defeated Woodson 49-19, Briar Woods 60-16 and Warren County 42-36. The Colonels also lost to Loudoun County (46-26).

Handley leaders: 5-0: 113 Alex Sardelis, 126 Jace Culotta, 144 Hayden Thompson (won 150th career match), 157 James Battulga. 4-1: 175 Thomas Thorpe. Loudoun County’s Octavian Ashford defeated Thorpe in a rematch of last year’s Class 4 175-pound title match.
